The key point
The video acknowledges uncertainty and supplies no final result, so compressor suspicion remains provisional.

Sifu White explains what happened
Prices, repair times and warranty terms mentioned in the video applied at the time. Ask the workshop about current arrangements.
At times the AC suddenly stops cooling at higher speed, then becomes cold again when the car slows down. The customer wants to visit the service centre because the car is still under warranty. Sifu White has no objection and still takes time to inspect it properly and explain the possible fault.
Two hours later, the customer returns from the service centre with the same problem. Sifu recommends trying the expansion valve first, then checking whether the refrigerant pressure returns to normal.
Sifu White has handled many Mazda CX-30 cases involving the compressor and condenser. Many lean toward a compressor fault, but this case is still close to fifty-fifty. The assessment comes from experience reading the pressure, not guesswork.
When the diagnosis is still fifty-fifty, the necessary steps are taken while minimising the risk of replacing unneeded parts. For air-conditioning problems
Why refrigerant type, charge weight and oil must match
The vehicle’s refrigerant label and service information are the starting point for identifying the refrigerant and charge quantity. A gauge shows pressure under particular conditions, not a direct measurement of the refrigerant mass inside the system. An apparently low pressure is not, by itself, a reason to keep adding refrigerant. Both too little and too much can affect operation, so the charge should be established using suitable equipment and the vehicle specification.
Compatibility also involves compressor oil, seals and servicing equipment. The fact that cold air appears is not sufficient evidence that a substitute refrigerant or mixed oil is suitable. R-134a, R-1234yf and R-744 systems cannot be treated as interchangeable based on price or the appearance of a connection. A proposed conversion needs a vehicle-specific technical basis. An individual experiment in a video is not a general retrofit procedure.
Separate component failure from power and control faults
Pressing A/C is a request; the vehicle still has to meet its operating conditions. Controllers, sensors, relays and wiring work together to determine whether a component runs. A compressor that does not start may have an internal fault, or it may not be receiving the required power or command. Before replacement, the technician needs to establish where the failure occurs in the actual circuit rather than treating the visible symptom as the diagnosis.
A fault code helps direct testing, but it does not always identify a part to buy. Actual output, connectors, ground connections and circuit behaviour under load may all need verification. Added relays or bypass wires can also change the original control relationships. After addressing an electrical fault, the air-conditioning needs to be operated again to check the original complaint. A cleared code or newly installed part is not sufficient evidence of a successful repair by itself.
The next check is still pending
The video ends before the final repair is confirmed. The remaining checks will determine what needs to be repaired or replaced.
What to tell the workshop about your own car
You do not need to guess a part name first. A clear description of what actually happens is often more useful for reproducing the complaint than requesting a particular replacement.
- Provide the refrigerant label and previous charging or conversion records.
- Mention previous wiring changes, added relays or controller replacements.
- Include the model, year, recent repairs and what changed before or after the symptom began.
Questions owners ask
Can pressure alone tell how much refrigerant to add?
No. Pressure changes with operating and ambient conditions. Establish charge mass using the specified procedure and suitable equipment, while addressing why the charge became incorrect.
Can a fault code be used as a replacement instruction?
Use the code together with circuit and component tests. Wiring, ground faults or unmet control conditions can prevent an otherwise serviceable component from operating.
