Sifu White explains what happened

Prices, repair times and warranty terms mentioned in the video applied at the time. Ask the workshop about current arrangements.

This customer is also a foreman. Today we are handling another Myvi 320. He saw Sifu White on TikTok and messaged before coming, explaining the previous work and other workshops' findings. The compressor was genuinely damaged and seized. We gave him a price, and he came directly.

Why did I choose this workshop? I watched Sifu White's TikTok videos and the knowledge he shared, while the price seemed reasonable. My compressor was seized and the cooling coil was leaking, so I wanted everything repaired in one visit. The estimate was four hours, but the team finished in about two and a half hours. I was genuinely surprised by the speed.

The team worked extremely quickly. The radiator-related item mentioned by Sifu was resolved, and the loose screws I additionally pointed out were also fixed. I had surveyed several workshops before coming. As a foreman, I understand the work and ultimately chose to entrust it to Sifu White.

I am very happy and the price is reasonable. My spare-parts research suggested more than RM3,000 elsewhere, while everything here, including installation and some additional work, came to a little over RM2,000. Would I recommend the workshop to friends? Definitely.

How to use a workshop story when planning a visit

A workshop story shows the people and communication behind the service, but it cannot replace an inspection of your vehicle. Before a visit, the useful information is the model, year, conditions that trigger the complaint and previous work. You do not need to identify a component first: differences between idling and driving, changes in airflow and the settings that trigger a problem are useful observations in their own right.

At the workshop, ask for the findings and proposed work to be explained separately, then review parts, scheduling and a written quotation. A customer’s experience, a busy day, an expansion plan or a special arrangement in a video records the situation at that time. Use the current contact details on this page to confirm today’s arrangements. This allows the story to inform your expectations while your own vehicle’s evidence guides the repair decision.

How contamination changes the repair scope

Refrigerant and lubricant travel through several components. Debris from internal compressor wear can therefore create a problem beyond the compressor itself. Installing a replacement while contamination remains in circulation can expose the replacement to the same problem. The investigation should distinguish the source of damage, the spread of contamination and the condition of components that might still be serviceable. Neither “compressor only” nor “replace everything” is a complete diagnosis on its own.

Whether flushing is appropriate depends on component construction, contamination and the manufacturer’s procedure. Fine passages and trapped debris can be difficult to clean reliably. Compressors, driers and metering devices cannot simply be treated as open lengths of pipe during flushing. Oil colour is one observation, but colour alone does not measure moisture content or establish that every component has failed. An itemised explanation should identify what needs replacement, what can be cleaned, and the evidence behind each decision.

What to tell the workshop about your own car

You do not need to guess a part name first. A clear description of what actually happens is often more useful for reproducing the complaint than requesting a particular replacement.

  • Send the model, year and symptoms when arranging a visit.
  • Ask for an itemised scope separating contamination work from leak repair.
  • Include the model, year, recent repairs and what changed before or after the symptom began.

Questions owners ask

Do the timing and arrangements in the video still apply?

The video records that occasion, not a current fixed commitment. Confirm the inspection scope, parts and schedule with the workshop.

Does compressor failure require replacing the whole system?

Not automatically. Wear, contamination, leaks and the ability to clean a component determine the scope. A sound component is not defective merely because it belongs to the same circuit.
